Overview
Screen Layout
The main interface of Stage Cue is designed to be clean and intuitive:
The screen is divided into two sections: a top section for preview and control, and a bottom section for video buttons.
The top section features a preview area, where you can see what will be shown on external displays (iOS) or in dedicated video display windows (macOS).
- On iOS, Stage Cue automatically detects connected external displays and uses them for full-screen video playback.
- On macOS, you can open as many video display windows as needed using
Cmd + N
or by selecting New Video Display from the File menu. These windows can be freely arranged across your screens.
In the top-left corner, you’ll find the button to access the app’s settings.
Next to it is the button, which toggles Rearrange Mode. This mode allows you to drag and drop video buttons into new positions. When active, the lower half of the screen takes on a bluish tint to indicate the mode is enabled.
To add a new video, tap the large button in the lower half of the screen. Videos can be imported from your device’s file system or directly from the photo library. Each configuration can hold up to 64 video buttons, and you can switch between an unlimited number of configurations via the app’s settings.
Video Buttons
Each video is represented by a customizable button containing key information:
Here’s what you’ll see:
- Top Right: The total duration of the video. If the video is currently playing, you’ll also see the current playback time and progress.
- Center: The video title, which you can edit in the video’s settings.
- Bottom Left: A mute indicator, shown only if the video is muted.
- Bottom Center: The MIDI trigger for this video, shown only if a MIDI trigger has been setup.
- Bottom Right: The current playback mode (e.g., loop, stop, or play next).
Tap a video button to start or stop playback.
Long press to open the video’s settings for customization.
